Tortilla Chips, a Quarantine Recipe

Amid corona virus and lock down, I am sure you must be looking around something for munching all the time. Especially, when you are watching your favorite web series on Netflix. Here I bring new types of chips for you to add on beside everyone’s favorite butter pop corns.

This recipe is an Indian twist to nachos. So can be called Indian nachos as well. They are

  • crispy and crunchy
  • easy to make
  • rice is staple diet for Indians. Chips are made of rice flour which make them perfect for snacks as well
  • Quarantine special

Ingredients

  • Rice flour – 2 cups
  • Water – 1&1/2 cups
  • Salt -as per the taste
  • Kashmiri red chilly powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Oil for frying

And that’s all. Isn’t it a quarantine special?

Method

  • Take non stick pan. Add water and bring it to boil
  • After water starts boiling, add salt and rice flour and mix really well. Make sure there is no lumps
  • Then cover the pan with lid and switch off the flame. Put it aside for 5 min
  • Transfer it in mixing plate and prepare the smooth dough
  • Place the dough on a flat surface and flatten it further with the help of a rolling pin
  • Cut tortilla (flatten dough) in triangular size
  • Fry them on low flame and remove from oil once become slightly golden
  • Once all are fried, add chilly powder while they are hot and chips are ready to enjoy with salsa or chipotle sause

    Equipment

    • Cast Iron Vessel
    • Non Stick Pan

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 cup Rice Flour
    • 1 1/2 cup Water
    • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder normal chilly powder will work too
    • Salt as per taste
    • Sunflower Oil any refined oil will work too

    Instructions
     

    • Take non stick pan. Add water and bring it to boil.
    • After water starts boiling, add salt and rice flour and mix really well. Make sure there is no lumps.
    • Then cover the pan with lid and switch off the flame. Put it aside for 5 min.
    • Transfer it in mixing plate and prepare the smooth dough

    Notes

    • Store in air tight container and can be consumed for 8 days
